“The Border Patrol style holster was a specialized firearm holster designed for law enforcement officers working at national borders or checkpoints during the first quarter of the twenth century. It was crafted for comfort, accessibility, and durability to withstand various environments, from rugged terrains to urban settings. Typically made from tough materials such as leather, Kydex, or nylon, the holster ensures that the officer’s weapon is securely held while remaining easy to draw during high-stress situations. Border Patrol style holsters were essential for maintaining officer safety and readiness while carrying out border security duties.”

  • “Jesse James” – Smith and Wesson American 3 Schofield Holster [SL-2022]

    $62.00

This is my interpretation of the “Jesse James” style holster he wore.

NOTE: Shown with an 8 inch barrel.

The U.S. Army adopted the .44 S&W American caliber Model 3 revolver in 1870, making it the first standard-issue, cartridge-firing revolver in US service. Most military pistols until that point were black powder cap-and-ball revolvers, which were (by comparison) slow, complicated, and susceptible to the effects of wet weather.

Many of the Model 3 Schofield revolvers served in the Indian Wars, with reports of them in use as late as the Spanish–American War and Philippine–American War. Like the other Model 3s, they were also reportedly popular with lawmen and outlaws in the American West, and were reportedly used by Jesse James, Bob Ford (who used one to kill James),[6] John Wesley Hardin, Pat Garrett, Theodore Roosevelt, Virgil Earp, Billy the Kid, and many others. The S&W No. 3 revolver was famously used by Wyatt Earp during the gunfight at the O.K. Corral with the Clanton Gang.

This holster can be ordered for a 3-1/2 inch, 5 inch or 7 inch barrel length

  • Texas Jockstrap Holster

“Texas Jockstrap” Holster for Colt Single Action Army Revolvers [SL-2878]

    $75.00

The “Texas Jockstrap Holster” is a historical term for a specific style of handgun holster popular in the late 19th century, particularly in the American West. It’s characterized by its design, which resembles a jockstrap in its method of securing the firearm.

While not as common today, reproductions of Texas Jockstrap Holsters are still made for historical reenactors, cowboy action shooters, and those interested in traditional Western gear. They represent a unique piece of firearms history and a testament to the ingenuity of design in a time when functionality was paramount.
